Kraków has one of the busiest public transport networks in Poland, and tickets are cheap compared with most European cities. The city changed its tariff on 2 March 2026, so older price lists you find online are out of date. This guide uses the tariff announced by the Public Transport Authority of Kraków (ZTP) on 26 February 2026 and the tariff documents published on ztp.krakow.pl.

Zones and how to read the list

Kraków's fares depend on the ticket zone. Zone I is the city of Kraków, and zones II and III cover the surrounding municipalities. Most people who live in the city only need zone I. If you live or work outside the city, check which zone your address is in before you buy a monthly ticket, because the combined zone tickets cost more.

Prices below are the standard fare (normalny), with the reduced fare (ulgowy) after it. On nearly every ticket in the ZTP list the reduced fare is half the standard price.

Single and time tickets

According to ZTP, these tickets apply from 2 March 2026:

  • Single ride: 6 zł (reduced 3 zł).
  • 15-minute ticket: 4 zł (2 zł).
  • 30-minute ticket: 6 zł (3 zł).
  • 60-minute ticket: 8 zł (4 zł).
  • 90-minute ticket: 9 zł (4.50 zł).
  • 70-minute combined ticket (KMK + KMŁ): 10 zł (5 zł).

A group single-ride ticket for up to 20 people costs 50 zł (25 zł reduced) in zone I, and 60 zł (30 zł reduced) for zones I, II and III.

Short passes

If you are staying for a few days, a pass can be cheaper than single tickets. ZTP lists:

  • 24-hour ticket: 20 zł in zone I (10 zł reduced), 25 zł for zones I+II+III (12.50 zł reduced).
  • 48-hour ticket: 40 zł (20 zł reduced).
  • 72-hour ticket: 55 zł (27.50 zł reduced).
  • 7-day ticket: 65 zł in zone I (32.50 zł reduced), 80 zł for zones I+II+III (40 zł reduced).
  • Family weekend ticket: 25 zł.

Monthly tickets for residents

ZTP sells named periodic tickets for residents in zone I. These are named tickets, tied to one person. The prices from 2 March 2026 are:

  • network ticket (all lines): 99 zł, reduced 49.50 zł, and 89 zł for companies,
  • single-line ticket: 72 zł, reduced 36 zł,
  • half-year ticket: 515 zł, reduced 257.50 zł,
  • annual student ticket: 470 zł.

ZTP calls these "mieszkańca" (resident) tickets. Read the conditions on the ZTP site before you plan around them, because eligibility rules apply and are not repeated here.

Metropolitan monthly tickets

For people who commute across zones, ZTP lists named monthly metropolitan tickets:

  • zone I: 193 zł (96.50 zł reduced, 164 zł for companies),
  • zone II: 132 zł (66 zł reduced),
  • zone III: 132 zł (66 zł reduced),
  • zones I+II: 204 zł (102 zł reduced, 173 zł for companies),
  • zones II+III: 204 zł (102 zł reduced),
  • zones I+II+III: 241 zł (120.50 zł reduced, 205 zł for companies).

There are also monthly social tickets from 30 zł for zone I and activation tickets for unemployed people from 50 zł for zone I. These need qualification, and ZTP explains the conditions.

Which ticket to pick

  • First days in Kraków: a 24-hour ticket at 20 zł in zone I, or the 72-hour ticket at 55 zł.
  • Living in the city: compare the resident network ticket at 99 zł with the metropolitan zone I ticket at 193 zł. The difference is large, so check whether you are eligible for the resident one.
  • A commuter from zone II: the combined I+II ticket is 204 zł, while two separate single-zone tickets would cost 325 zł, so the combined one is the sensible choice.
  • Visiting with a group or family: look at the family weekend ticket at 25 zł.

Unused old tickets

If you have unused paper tickets from before 2 March 2026, ZTP published exchange rules for them. Read the ZTP article before you throw them away.
